12 New Homes Are Ready!
Posted on:
Advance Housing Limited is pleased to announce the completion of twelve new homes in its McKail Community Housing Project, marking a significant milestone in the delivery of high-quality, sustainable housing in Albany.
This $5.2 million project was made possible with an $866,000 grant from the Department of Housing and Works through its Capital Grants Program, combined with significant investment by Advance Housing, reflecting a shared commitment to increasing housing supply and improving outcomes for people in need of secure, affordable homes.
Designed by local architects H+H Architects and built by Wauters Building Company, the newly completed homes showcase what modern community housing can be- well-designed, well-managed, and built to blend seamlessly into the neighbourhood. Each home has been constructed with comfort and sustainability in mind, achieving a 7-star energy rating, which means quieter living environments and lower running costs for tenants.
Importantly, 50% of the homes meet the Gold Liveable Design Standards, ensuring accessibility and adaptability for people of all ages and abilities with the balance meeting the Silver Liveable Design Standards.
“Stronger communities start with stable housing,” said John Lysaught, CEO of Advance Housing Limited. “Our team is actively working to increase housing supply, which creates local jobs and benefits our broader community. These twelve newly completed homes are just the beginning of a substantial pipeline of new builds that we’re proud to deliver.”
The homes also create more pathways through the housing continuum, supporting tenants to move from crisis or transitional housing into long-term, stable accommodation. The new homes will be occupied by community members within two weeks of completion.
Advance Housing Limited remains committed to delivering housing that supports dignity, independence, and community connection.
