Advance Housing is pleased to announce the appointment of Wauters Building Company, to construct a landmark 36 new social and affordable housing development in Albany.
The $21.8 million project, delivered in partnership with the Department of Housing and Works and Housing Australia, represents Advance Housing’s largest investment to date. The project will provide a mix of 25 social homes and 11 affordable rental homes in the growing Bayonet Head community.
The thoughtfully designed homes will provide high levels of energy efficiency, private outdoor spaces, and landscaped communal areas that support liveability and connection.
The appointment of Wauters Building Company follows a robust and transparent procurement process, reinforcing Advance Housing’s commitment to quality, value for money, and demonstrated community outcomes.
Central to this process was the use of the panel of pre-qualified commercial builders, established by Advance Housing. This comprehensive pre-qualification process included assessment of:
- Technical capability and construction experience
- Financial capacity and business viability
- Workplace safety performance and compliance
- Proven track record in delivering high quality projects on time and on budget
- Commitment to local jobs and positive community impact
This milestone reflects not only a rigorous procurement process, but also a shared commitment to deliver modern community housing that is high quality, well-managed, and built to fit in.
