Funding Secured For Three FDV Transitional Homes
Posted on:
Advance Housing and the City of Albany are pleased to announce the successful outcome of a grant application through the Housing Australia Future Fund – Crisis and Transitional (HAFF CT).
The funding will support the delivery of three dedicated homes for victim-survivors of family and domestic violence, providing safe and appropriate transitional accommodation for individuals and families rebuilding their lives. Works are expected to commence in 2026, with the project scheduled for completion in 2028.
Advance Housing will lead the implementation and overall delivery of the project, with City of Albany contributing to the design of infrastructure works. Following completion, Advance Housing will partner with Anglicare WA to support the delivery of specialist services to residents.
Advance Housing CEO, John Lysaught said the project represented an important investment in the safety and wellbeing of victim-survivors in the region. “Access to safe and stable housing is critical for people leaving family and domestic violence. These three homes will provide more than accommodation. They will offer a secure foundation from which individuals and families can begin rebuilding their lives.”
Housing Australia Acting CEO Sarah Amos said, “Every investment in crisis and transitional housing is an investment in safety, stability and opportunity. Through this funding from the Australian Government, more individuals and families experiencing family violence will have access to safe and secure housing at a critical time in their lives. We are proud to support Advance Housing and the City of Albany on this project, which demonstrates the power of partnerships to deliver practical housing solutions and stronger communities.”
City of Albany Mayor, Greg Stocks said the successful grant demonstrated what could be achieved through strong local partnerships. “This project brings together housing, infrastructure and specialist support to respond to an identified need in our community. We are proud to work alongside Advance Housing to help deliver these much-needed homes.”
The HAFF CT is administered by Housing Australia on behalf of the Australian Government and supports the delivery of crisis and transitional accommodation for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence, as well as young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Advance Housing and the City of Albany thank the Australian Government and Housing Australia for their investment in this important project.
