Media Statement- Oyster Harbour Green project
Posted on:
Advance Housing is pleased to collaborate with the Cook and Albanese Labor Governments to deliver 36 new social and affordable rental homes in Albany.
The combination of 1 and 2-bedroom thoughtfully designed new homes, will be built across four buildings in the Albany suburb of Bayonet Head.
The development will include off street parking, private outdoor spaces, and common landscaped areas.
The homes will be built to a high standard, with high energy efficiency, with a minimum average rating of 7 stars NatHERS energy rating, with some properties exceeding 8.2 stars. This increases the comfort for tenants while reducing their cost of living.
All homes will be highly accessible meeting the Gold Standard of the Livable Housing Design Guidelines
The homes will be owned and managed by Advance Housing, leased to tenants on a low to moderate income.
John Lysaught, Advance Housing CEO explained that “good neighbours come from all walks of life, and our team is proud to contribute to growing the local housing supply.
In addition to new homes, this project creates local jobs and benefits to the broader community.
The inclusion of affordable housing also enables more housing pathways, supporting a wider range of community members to access high-quality, long-term accommodation.
This project is part of a pipeline of works planned by Advance Housing to provide more people a place to call home.”
