WA State Government Supports Advance Housing’s Hardie Road Project
Posted on:
Premier Roger Cook announced on Friday 24 January that the WA State Government would provide $25 million towards Advance Housing’s proposed Hardie Road Project in Spencer Park.
The Hardie Road project will provide a mix of social, affordable, and government or key worker housing as well as being expected to house the proposed new Albany Dental Clinic. The dwellings will be a mix of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom homes and the project will contribute 51 new dwellings upon completion. The homes will also meet a minimum of 7 Stars under NatHERS and will target a minimum of Silver Standard under of the Liveable Housing Design Guidelines.
The exciting project has been a strategic aspiration of Advance Housing’s since 2022 and represents the culmination of significant investment by Advance Housing, and ongoing engagement with key stakeholders to gather support and ensure it meets community need.
Advance Housing Chair Peter Adams said, “It’s very exciting to receive such significant support for a project that will genuinely help refresh and enhance the living experiences of Albany community members in Spencer Park, as well as providing a space to bring additional health services online”.
“This investment in embracing the project’s mixed-use site and mixed housing tenure elements will enrich the community fabric of Spencer Park”, stated Advance Housing CEO, John Lysaught. “We look forward to partnering with the Cook Labor Government to bring this project to life for the community”.
Final design processes are underway through local architects H+H Architects along with finalisation of project planning and resourcing. Further announcements will be made in due course.
